Lesley-Ann Brown is a Trinidadian-American writer, blogger and educator. She has been blogging at blackgirlonmars.com over the past 10 years and chronicles her life and other adventures as an expat/immigrant/exile in Copenhagen, Denmark and other travels. Brown is co-founder of the Say It Loud! poetry collective of Black female poets in Copenhagen, Denmark. She studied Writing and Literature with a focus on race and representation at the New School for Social Research. A selection of recent writings can be found at http://www.lesleyannbrownwrites.wordpress.com .  In 2004 she founded Bandit Queen Press; which focuses on publishing the work of traditionally marginalized writers and poets and creating “uniques” banditqueenpress.com. Brown was recently celebrated as one of Black Women in Europe’s “Shero” in celebration of the organisation’s 10th anniversary.
